Practise interview answers out loud, then improve them
AI Interview: Job Practice · iOS
AI Interview is an iOS app for practising job interview answers. You answer a question by voice or text, and the app gives you a practice score, what worked, one main thing to improve and a rewritten example. You then answer again and compare the two versions. The guides below explain what common questions are testing before you practise with your own experience.

How practice works
- Choose your role. Pick the kind of job you are preparing for. The questions and feedback follow that role, so a retail answer is not judged like an answer for a government panel.
- Answer out loud. Speak your answer as you would in the room. If you cannot talk where you are, type it instead.
- Fix one thing. The feedback does not hand you a list of ten problems. It names the one change most likely to make the answer clearer and shows a rewritten example.
- Answer again and compare. Say the answer again with that change, then see what is different between your first and second attempts.
Use your own resume
If you upload your resume, the app writes questions about the jobs, study and projects on it. That is closer to a real interview, where the panel asks about what you have actually done, than a generic question list.
Who it is for
The app is for anyone preparing for a job interview in English, whether in Australia or another English-speaking country. You can choose from a range of roles, from retail and hospitality to government administration. The government guides on this site focus on APS and NSW public sector administrative roles, because those interviews follow published capability frameworks that are worth understanding before you practise.
Why read the guides first
Memorised sample answers tend to fall apart at the first follow-up question. Each guide explains what a question type is checking, how to structure an answer, and what first attempts usually leave out, using fictional examples. Read one, build an answer from your own experience, then practise it in the app.
The scores in the app are for practice only. They do not tell you whether an employer will make you an offer, and they do not replace the selection criteria or assessment method set out in a job advertisement.
